In this quick, no-hype review, we test the Flick F3 Hybrid and break down what makes its three-layer foam core different, how it actually plays on court, and why our final verdict may surprise you. The Flick F3 is part of the new generation of foam-core pickleball paddles. It is available in elongated, hybrid, and standard shapes, and the version tested in this review is the Hybrid. The F3 uses three different foam layers: a high-density EP foam inner layer, a medium-density EP foam middle layer, and a low-density EVA foam outer layer. The idea behind this construction is to improve performance, enlarge the sweet spot, and increase control. But specifications are only part of the story. What matters is how a paddle feels when you actually play points with it. Our first impression of the Flick F3 was not positive. Right away, the paddle felt unusually “dead” and almost board-like. Rather than judging it after one session, we continued playing with it over multiple days to see whether that impression would change. Unfortunately, it didn’t. On court, the Flick F3 felt like a middle-of-the-road all-court paddle. It did not deliver the explosive power we would expect from a power-focused paddle, but it also did not give us the confidence or control we want from a control-oriented paddle. Punch volleys at the kitchen felt slower, spin performance was underwhelming, and the response made it difficult to trust our shots. That does NOT mean every player will have the same experience. Paddle feel is highly personal, and there are players and reviewers who enjoy the F3. Our verdict is based on our own testing and comparison with many of the other foam pickleball paddles available. For us, there are stronger options in the foam-paddle category, so we cannot recommend the Flick F3 after testing. If you are considering the Flick F3, watch the full review before buying and let us know in the comments if you have played with it. Did it feel dead to you, or did you have a completely different experience? We especially want to hear from players who have tried more than one F3 shape. 💰 FLICK F3 PRICE: $190 🏴‍☠️ DISCOUNT CODE: PIRATES 💸 SAVE 10% on your purchase with code PIRATES.
