Too often I see left-side players taking the third shot drop when it's going straight to the right-side player. While this is a legit strategy and works depending on the partnership, it limits the left-side players ability to poach on the 5th shot! If the left-side player takes a 3rd shot that's going in the direction of the right-side players 2 things happen: 1) The right-side player stays back because they thought they would take the 3rd shot 2) The left-side player can't poach the 5th shot. Instead, let the right-side player take the 3rd shot, which allows the left-side player to run up to the NVZ and put pressure on the opponents' 4th shot!
