A week after hosting the Inaugural Women’s Open, the APP Tour took over the Oasis Pickleball Club. Conditions were hot, and the wind whipped through the complex during the event.

Let’s dive into the action:

Women’s Singles

Yana Newell defeated Simone Jardim to claim her first gold medal of 2024 in singles. With this win, Newell completed the "cycle" of medals, now holding a gold, silver, and bronze this year.

Newell’s path to gold was anything but easy, narrowly escaping a loss to Domenika Turkovic in the Round of 16. She won 10-15, 15-12, 18-16.

In a move that shook up the women’s singles bracket, Megan Fudge withdrew, creating opportunities for other players to make deep runs. Rachael James capitalized, earning her second consecutive bronze on the APP Tour. Emilia Schmidt also made a strong showing, finishing fourth.

Men’s Singles

Chris Haworth secured his sixth gold medal of the year on the APP Tour, navigating past Max Manthou and Eduardo Irizarry before facing Jack Foster in the finals. In a nail-biting two-game match, Foster had bested Grayson Goldin in the semis, 16-15, 17-15.

Haworth dominated from start to finish in the finals, defeating Foster 15-10, 15-11.

Goldin snagged a bronze, his fourth medal on tour this year.

Mixed Doubles

Megan Fudge and Jack Munro captured their second gold together on the APP Tour in mixed doubles, defeating Daria Walczak and Casey Diamond 11-7, 11-2 in the finals.

Diamond has been playing excellent pickleball lately. She and her partner beat Riley Bohnert and Will Howells in the semifinals, who had taken down Yana Newell and Erik Lange earlier.

Newcomer Randy Blanco won bronze with Bobbi Oshiro, her fourth medal of the year.

Women’s Doubles

In recent months, Jill Braverman and Megan Fudge have been the most consistent women’s duo on the APP Tour. They continued their winning streak in Dallas, defeating Emily Cederquist and Yana Newell 12-10, 11-7. Braverman and Fudge didn't drop a game all day.

Cederquist and Newell had to show resilience to reach the finals. They lost their first game 2-11 to Daria Walczak and Riley Bohnert in the quarterfinals. But after that, they went on a tear, outscoring their opponents 44-11 and even pickling Allison Harris and Simone Jardim in the second game of their match.

Susannah Barr and Clauka Carvajal Lane earned bronze, defeating Harris and Jardim. After a strong start to the year, Harris and Jardim, who earned four medals early in the season, have missed the podium in their last three events.

Men’s Doubles

Max Manthou and Erik Lange claimed their second gold in Dallas, defeating Will Howells and Mark Dancourt.

Lange and Manthou didn’t have an easy path to the finals. In the quarterfinals, they faced APP Next Gen National Team members Spencer Lanier and Richard Livornese, Jr., winning 11-4, 5-11, 11-1.

In the semifinals, they overcame top-seeded Rob Nunnery and Jack Munro, 11-4, 12-10.

In the finals, they defeated new teammates Will Howells and Mark Dancourt 11-7, 11-8. Dancourt’s performance was especially impressive, as this was his first medal on the tour.
