APP Fort Lauderdale Open Tournament Preview

Action returns to ‘The Fort’ in Fort Lauderdale on the APP Tour for the tour’s first Major of the year. The Fort Lauderdale Open is worth more APP Tour Points and more prize money, as a Major.

The first event of the 2025 APP Tour season was held at The Fort, but weather played a major factor. Wind and rain forced play indoors for gender doubles. For a full recap of that tournament, check out our recap article below.

Weather Outlook

It looks like Fort Lauderdale is going to be ideal conditions for the tournament this weekend. It might be windy at times, but very little chance of precipitation getting in the way of play.

I will say Sofia Sewing makes it three in a row on the APP Tour, defeating Bobbi Oshiro in the final.
