Average Pickleball player takes lesson with a PRO

I took a lesson with PPA pro and MLP player for the Las Vegas Night Owls, Blaine Hovenier. Blaine is a 6.26 DUPR. Ranked #23 in mens doubles and #23 in mixed, he caught a lot of attention in MLP last year while playing with the Hard 8’s Blaine is based out of Dallas and turned pro in 2024 I flew out to california and met up with blaine and one thing i assumed blaine excelled at is hands. once we got into the lesson though, i learned more about how he dinks as well: dinking from the right side, how to hit half volley dinks like a pro, and countering top spin dinks. we also get into patterns, drop volleys, and of course some entertaining 1v1 points.
