MIXED DOUBLES FINAL: (2) Jorja Johnson and JW Johnson def. (3) Anna Bright and Dekel Bar, 11-1, 9-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4.

  • Bright and Bar beat Waters and Johns in the semis, ending their winning streak of 15 tournaments entered and playing together. 
  • Bright is part of the last three teams to beat Waters and Johns (inc’l pool play at 2023 Nationals)
  • Johnsons’ first title together since Newport Beach in 2023.
  • Johnsons ended a seven-finals losing streak (all to Waters and Johns) 
  • Johnsons had more Clean Winners, 25-17.
  • Dekel Bar had 14 Ernes kept in play, the most in -any- final since the start of 2022.

MEN’S DOUBLES FINAL: (4) Christian Alshon and Andrei Daescu def. (2) Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio, 11-5, 11-1, 10-12, 5-11, 11-7.

  • Alshon and Daescu also won the Tucson Open, beating JW Johnson and Gabe Tardio.
  • Alshon now has four Doubles titles; Daescu has six.
  • Alshon had a match-high 16 Clean Winners.
  • Tardio’s 17 volleys into the net was more than Alshon and Daescu combined.
  • Alshon and Daescu had match point in Game Three but lost that rally. Since January 2022, teams losing a game after having game point have won the match 25 percent of the time.

WOMEN’S DOUBLES FINAL: (1) Catherine Parenteau and Anna Leigh Waters def. (2) Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher, 4-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8, 11-1.

  • Parenteau and Waters have 29 titles together, including 14 in 2024.  (29-3 record in finals)
  • They are 9-3 in finals vs Bright/Rohrabacher and 20-0 in finals against everyone else.

MEN’S SINGLES FINAL: (2) Ben Johns def. (4) Hunter Johnson, 12-10, 11-1.

  • 41st career title for Johns, who is now 41-2 in finals.
  • Johns is now 229-29 overall, and 5-0 vs Johnson.
  • Johns had more Clean Winners, 10-7, and fewer Baseline Drive Errors, 10-4.
  • Johnson’s sixth final since September.
  • Johnson suffered an apparent ankle injury at 3-0 in Game Two, and needed a medical time-out.
  • Longest rally: 14 shots.

WOMEN’S SINGLES FINAL: (1) Anna Leigh Waters def. (3) Brooke Buckner, 4-11, 11-9, 11-5.

  • Waters’ fourth straight Mesa title.
  • Waters is now 47-3 in Singles finals and 36-0 in finals since losing to Parris Todd in June 2022.
  • Waters in Game Two trailed 9-4 and won 11-9.
  • Longest rally: 22 shots.
