DPL 2024 Session 2 Week 5 - Eddie and Webby Pickleballers vs Drippy Droppers

Here are some highlights from week 5 (Session 2) of the 2024 season of the Detroit Pickleball League. This is the final week of the regular season, so it crucial for the 6th place Eddie and Webby Pickleballers to win a majority of the games in this match in order to have a chance of making it into the top 4. This match is against the 5th place Drippy Droppers, who are also fighting for a chance to make it into the top 4. Was the team able to pull it off and secure a spot in the playoffs? Watch this video to find out! The Detroit Pickleball League format is similar to Major League Pickleball, but involves players with a skill level between 3.5 and 4.4. Each team consists of 3 men and 2 women. Each week, our team will face off against one other team in a match consisting of 9 games. The first 8 games will feature women's doubles, men's doubles and mixed doubles (each player on the team must take part in 4 games per day of competition). The 9th, and final, game of the evening is called DreamBreak Doubles, where 2 players from a team will play until they score 4 points. After scoring 4 points, the two other designated players will rotate in and play until they score 4 points (the original 2 will then rotate back in). Each game is rally scoring and teams play to 21 points (win by 2).
