What’s up, guys, this is Christian Alshon. After nearly three years of sweat and tears, I won my first PPA singles gold medal at the Veolia Cape Coral Open, March 9, 2025🥇🏆🎉
There are so many great competitors in the singles draws these days which makes this feel even better than it would have early on in my career.
That feeling of winning is what keeps all of us athletes coming back after getting knocked down over and over. It’s a feeling we can’t stop chasing
This is the first time I don’t have an on court partner to thank for winning a tournament, so I’ll start with thanking the person who is on the court with me during these singles matches. Big thanks to @waters_pb for coaching me when I don’t ask, maybe even when I don’t want it, but when I need to hear it. I couldn’t have come as far as I have without a great pickleball mind to learn from such as yourself!

Thank you to my parents who have paved the way of my career with the time and $$$ spent on tennis and traveling to tournaments throughout my childhood. I’m definitely getting your moneys worth these days! It was great to have you both witness me win for the first time!
Thank you to all my other family who came to support me in our home state! It was nice to share this moment with family!
Thank you to everyone who came in person to support me and/or all other pro pickleball players. Cape Coral, you guys were electric as a crowd!

Christian Alshon made the jump from college tennis to pro pickleball in 2021 and has been turning heads ever since. A former NCAA champ at the University of Chicago, he quickly climbed the ranks, winning titles at both the Challenger and Premier levels of Major League Pickleball—along with an MVP award. His fast-paced style and signature between-the-legs shots earned him the nickname "Tweener King", a name that took off as his highlights went viral. Alshon was named the most improved player in 2023 and nearly claimed the honor again in 2024, despite battling injuries for much of the season.
