Major League Pickleball by Margaritaville and the Carvana PPA Tour Set to Bring the World’s Best Pro and Amateur Pickleball to Virginia Beach

Major League Pickleball (MLP by Margaritaville) and the Carvana PPA Tour – the leading professional team-based pickleball league and the premier individual, rankings-based tour, respectively – are thrilled to announce back-to-back tournaments in Virginia Beach, both hosted at Pickleball Virginia Beach, coming September 26-October 6. The highly anticipated events will provide a hallmark showcase of the best of both professional and amateur pickleball. 

MLP Virginia Beach, marking MLP’s inaugural event in Virginia, will kick off the pickleball extravaganza. This four-day tournament, from Sept. 26-29, will set the table for the Carvana PPA Tour Stratusphere Gin Virginia Beach Cup, which will take place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 6. In the first and only Challenger Level-exclusive event of the season, all 10 of MLP’s Challenger Level teams will be in action for a total of 33 matches over four days. This is the sixth regular season event as all teams vie for standings points and spots in the season-ending MLP Playoffs this November, ahead of the Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships. MLP features nearly 100 of the best athletes in the sport in a unique coed team format, easy to understand scoring, iconic team owners and the most electric live events and fan experience in the sport. In addition to the professional tournaments, MLP and DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) will be hosting the first-ever Minor League Pickleball at MLP amateur event. This groundbreaking event will provide amateur players with a unique opportunity to compete in team tournaments at the same venue as the pros. Players are highly encouraged to register today for what promises to be an unforgettable experience for all participants. 

The Carvana PPA Tour Stratusphere Gin Virginia Beach Cup will see the best players in the world on one stage. World No. 1’s Anna Leigh Waters, Federico Staksrud, and global superstars Genie Bouchard and Jack Sock headline a stacked field. Amateur players are encouraged to register promptly for their spot in the tournament and play where the pros play. Hundreds of players are already registered to compete in the tournament and registration remains open until Sept. 26.
