Pickleball fans in the Pacific Northwest can rejoice as a brand new venue for the rapidly growing sport is set to open in downtown Spokane, Washington. This exciting new space, known as The Press Pickleball Club, is just one of many luxury clubs opening nationwide.

Featuring six indoor courts catering to players of all levels, The Press is expected to open before winter arrives, providing ample time to enjoy the game outdoors before moving indoors. While there are plenty of outdoor courts for Pickleball in the Spokane community, with most tennis courts adding pickleball lines, community members have been pushing for more indoor courts, especially with temperatures dropping.

Bryn West, Vice President of Property Management at Centennial Property Management Company, stated, “Pickleball is a fast-growing, community-building sport that appeals to all ages. This model promises to be a win-win for players and the surrounding area, including Dry Fly, Terra Blanca, and local brewery Humble Abode.” With its convenient proximity to the downtown area, including office spaces, retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, The Press Pickleball Club is set to be a hub for the sport in Downtown Spokane.

The Spokane community has seen the transformative power of sports and recreation firsthand, which is why board member for Spokane Sports, John Gavin, is excited about the opening of The Press Pickleball Club. It is yet another option for Pickleball fans in the city and a welcome addition to Washington’s official state sport.

Located at the former home of the Spokesman Review’s printing press, The Press Pickleball Club will offer six indoor courts, locker room facilities, and convenient parking options. Cowles Real Estate, which owns the One North Monroe building and many other holdings around the area, will own and manage the club.

Cowles Real Estate has been engaging with members of the local Pickleball community for the past few months to ensure that the facility meets the needs of its patrons. The club will also feature league play and tournaments, with details on a tiered membership structure expected to be finalized soon.

The Press Pickleball Club is set to open in late November. They provide an ongoing community survey currently available on The Press Pickleball website for players to give feedback and help shape the venue’s future. Those who complete the survey before October 26th will also have the chance to win a $100 Nike gift card.

In addition to being a new and convenient location for Pickleball enthusiasts, The Press Pickleball Club also pays homage to its former site. With Cowles Real Estate leading the space transformation, the club is set to become a vibrant hub for the sport in Downtown Spokane.
