NBA Hall of Famer, 4x World Series Champ, Olympic Gold Medalist, and Retired All-Stars Headline PBX Pickleball Experiences in Naples, Florida on Dec. 9-10

Fans can play with and against celebrities through PBX Pro-Am

(NAPLES, Fla. – Nov. 6, 2023) PBX Pickleball, the organization that unites retired professional athletes with the pickleball community, announced it will host a PBX Pro-Am and Tour Exhibition at the Naples Pickleball Center (3500 Thomasson Drive, Naples, Fla.) on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10.

In the PBX Pro-Am, registration includes the opportunity to play pickleball with and against retired professional athletes (a.k.a. PBX Pros), including NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, 4x World Series Champion Tino Martinez, 7x MLB All-Star Matt Holliday, 3x Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer Brooke Bennett, 2x MLB All-Star Brad Penny, and retired NHL players Michael Del Zotto and Mike Hartman. The roster is subject to change.

The exclusive opportunity in Naples will be limited to 30 total registrants. One spot costs $500 and includes a place in the PBX Pro-Am (Saturday or Sunday), one VIP ticket for the Saturday evening dinner with the PBX Pros, VIP viewing of the PBX Exhibition matches, a private Q&A session, exclusive PBX merchandise, photos, and autographs. Guest tickets for the Saturday evening dinner are available as an add-on for $150 per person.

“There is nothing in the sport of pickleball like the unique experience you’ll get at a PBX Pickleball event,” said Barry, who attended the PBX Pickleball training camp in August. “You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with former professional athletes, as you compete with and against us. The PBX Exhibition in Naples will also preview what fans will see during the 2024 PBX Tour, where athletes from other sports play pickleball against each other. PBX Pickleball launched in June and debuted its Pro-Am experience during a sold-out event in Arizona. It also hosted three PBX Training Camps that included many of the 100+ retired athletes who have signed on to the PBX roster.

PBX Pickleball will continue to add events nationwide, including one of four PBX Experiences: the PBX Tour, PBX Pro-Ams, PBX Dream Weekends, and PBX Corporate Experiences. As part of its outreach to athletes across major American sports, PBX Pickleball partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) and the NHL Alumni Association. PBX also partnered with Parity to reach women athletes across 70+ sports.
