On the same day Tinder announced a controversial height filter, DiNKR, an app to help find pickleball partners and schedule games, unveiled its own head-turning feature.
Now, users can toggle on a discreet “Open to Dating” profile tag — an optional way to signal that you’re game for more than just some friendly competition.
This is all part of what they call a "player-first" approach – find friends, schedule matches, curate your invite lists, and keep score for all your games. "Sort of like a social network just for pickleball players," according to the brand.
Here's how the new feature works:
- With one click on the expanded profiles, you can opt into on-court courtship
- The little heart badge that's added to your profile is only visible to other players who've also opted in
- This means you're in control of how you are seen.
- See someone you like? Simply tap to match, and if your interest is reciprocated, love might be just a paddle tap away
“At a time when people are looking to meet through shared passions rather than endless swipes, we’re proud to be the first pickleball app to embrace this dating-through-activities trend,” said Dan Brooks, Founder and CEO of DiNKR.
We’re all for a little high-tech match-making. Just keep the flirting off the court.
