Selkirk Pro Rachel Rohrabacher Takes on the Indy 200 With Pato O'Ward

Rachel Rohrabacher, one of professional pickleball's rising stars, recently felt the need for speed as she joined INDYCAR driver Patricio (Pato) O'Ward for some festivities at the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.

This unique event began with a friendly meet and greet, where Rohrabacher and O’Ward shared stories and insights from their respective sports. As a token of appreciation, Rachel presented Pato with several brand new Selkirk Luxx Control Air pickleball paddles.

About the event, Rachel said,

"The overall experience was amazing. Pato is one of the kindest people I've ever met, and he was so patient, taking his time explaining really basic things about racing and the car he drives. He is a great person, and I'm looking forward to supporting him in future races."

The highlight of her visit was an adrenaline-fueled lap around the race track.

Seated in the passenger seat of a two-seater INDYCAR, she experienced speeds of up to 180 mph.

"The lap was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced - it was a huge adrenaline rush, and I was kind of bummed when the lap ended so quickly. I would've stayed on for a good portion of the race if they let me!" she said.

Capping off a memorable day, O’Ward showcased his exceptional driving skills by winning the Indy 200, adding another victory to his impressive career.

Of course, winning with Rohrabacher by your side has been something other pickleball pros have been doing all year, as she is currently ranked 8th in Women's Doubles and 10th in Mixed Doubles on the PPA Tour.

The connection between INDYCAR and pickleball extends beyond this event.

Drivers and teams often transform the garage area into a makeshift pickleball court, enjoying spirited games that highlight the sport’s growing appeal among racing professionals.
