Quick Hits in each Event
Women’s Singles
- Sofia Sewing is the #1 seed and has the most golds on tour this year among women
- #4 seed, Katerina Stewart won the APP Newport Beach Open, the last APP event this year
- Players outside the top four seeds to watch out for are #10 Daria Walczak and #20 Emilia Schmidt
Prediction: Sewing beats Bobbi Oshiro in the finals to get back on the gold medal stand
Men’s Singles
- Some of the top men thus far in 2025 in singles are not playing in this event, so this field is wide open - in fact, the three medalists from the last event are not playing
- #1 Jack Foster has never earned an APP Tour gold medal, but has come close several times in his career
- Players outside the top seeds to watch out for are #16 Max Wild and #18 Naveen Beasley
Prediction: I think something crazy happens in men’s singles, so I am going with Dustin Boyer over Ammar Wazir in the final

Mixed Doubles
- Since Jack Munro is not playing this one, Megan Fudge has partnered with Andre Millet and they are the 4 seed
- Christine Maddox and Max “Purple Jesus” Manthou are partnered up and have won gold before on the APP Tour
- Casey Diamond and Sofia Sewing won silver in APP Newport Beach, but they are #8 seed
- Partnerships outside the top four seeds to watch out for are #11 Kelsey Grambeau/Robert Slutsky and #9 Daria Walczak/Kyle Koszuta
Prediction: Purple Jesus and Christine Maddox beat Jill Braverman and Richard Livornese, Jr.
Women’s Doubles
- Both of the top 2 seeds have won gold on tour this year
- #1 - Jill Braverman/Megan Fudge
- #2 - Emily Cederquist/Yana Newell
- #5 Sofia Sewing and Bobbi Oshiro played together for the first time in APP Newport Beach and earned a bronze medal, can they repeat?
- Daria Walczak, who has been mentioned before, is playing with Allison Harris and they are the #3 seed
Prediction: Newell and Cederquist defeat Sewing and Oshiro in the finals
Men’s Doubles
- Richard Livornese, Jr and Tanner Tomassi are the #1 seed, which is fitting, since they just won their first gold medal together in APP Newport Beach last month
- Max Manthou is actually playing with Ben Newell, instead of his normal partner, Erik Lange, and they are the #2 seed - I don’t expect a ton of dinking from this duo
- With so many men who normally medal, missing, there very well could be some chaos in men’s doubles this weekend
Prediction: I am calling for some sort of craziness in men’s doubles as well, so I am going to pick Livornese and Tomassi over Len Yang and Thomas Yu in the finals
