The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) Tour 2025 Calendar just has one more spot circled, and it finishes this weekend. The APP Tour Championships is not only the last tournament of the APP Tour year, it is also the last Major.

The Fort, in Fort Lauderdale, the APP Tour’s official headquarters, is hosting the event. Action begins Tuesday, December 9.

Of note, this is the first time the APP Tour is using a Progressive Draw, to my knowledge. For those fans unfamiliar, a Progressive Draw is one where the players play one round of each event, each day.

Additionally, this is a Tier 1 event on the APP Tour, $150,000 prize money event, one of the largest pools of the year.

Weather Outlook in Fort Lauderdale

Rain looks like it could cause issues on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, Sunday is looking like rain. Be on the lookout for weather delays and/or changing of schedule to try to avoid the rain.

Order of Play and How to Watch the APP Tour Championships

Tuesday, December 9 - Round of 128 & Round of 64 - Championship Court - ESPN+

Wednesday, December 10 - Round of 32 - Championship Court - ESPN+

Thursday, December 11 - Round of 16 - Championship Court - ESPN+

Friday, December 12 - Quarterfinals - Championship Court - ESPN+

Saturday, December 13 - Semifinals - Championship Court - ESPN+

Sunday, December 14 - Finals - Championship Court - ESPN+

Let’s get into the action.

Women’s Singles

Best two of three games, rally scoring to 15, win by two

Top Seeds

  1. Sofia Sewing
  2. Katerina Stewart
  3. Bobbi Oshiro
  4. Domenika Turkovic

Top Storylines

  • Sofia Sewing has been winning most of the tournaments on the APP Tour in 2025 - can she continue her winning ways?
  • Susannah Barr and Jill Braverman, two stalwart doubles players, rarely plays singles, but they are this week
  • Underdogs I like to make a good run in Fort Lauderdale: (10) Nicole Eugenio, (16) Seone Mendez, and Valerie and Victoria Simon - teenaged sisters who are just starting out on their pro careers

Prediction

  • I am sticking with the odds - the majority of tour stops on the APP Tour end women’s singles with Sewing beating Stewart, so I am saying the trend continues.

Men’s Singles

Top Seeds

  1. Ronan Camron
  2. Will Howells
  3. Dustin Boyer
  4. Ryler DeHeart

Top Storylines

  • Ronan Camron is coming off a win at the APP Mesa Open, his first gold on the APP Tour - can he make it two in a row?
  • Men’s singles is the largest field of any event this week at The Fort - there are over 75 contestants, so we will see Round of 128 and Round of 64 on Tuesday
  • Underdogs I like to make a good run in Fort Lauderdale: (11) Max “Purple Jesus” Manthou, (15) Naveen Beasley, (29) James Broker, (39) Jake Bower, and (68) Harrison Gold

Prediction

  • Men’s singles is such a crapshoot all the time, I am going to say Purple Jesus beats Naveen Beasley in the finals (if they are on opposite sides of the bracket)

Mixed Doubles

Top Seeds

  1. Jack Munro/Megan Fudge
  2. Bobbi Oshiro/Will Howells
  3. Jill Braverman/Randy Blanco
  4. Christine Maddox/Max “Purple Jesus” Manthou

Top Storylines

  • Munro/Fudge and Oshiro/Howells has been the predominant matchup headed into the finals - can the two top seeds make it all the way to Sunday?
  • (5) Sofia Sewing and Casey Diamond are a top contender just outside the top four - they have a gold on the APP Tour in mixed doubles this year, and they just won USA Pickleball Nationals together.
  • Underdogs I like to make a good run in Fort Lauderdale: (11) Riley Bohnert/Kyle Koszuta and (20) Allison Harris/Jack Foster.

Prediction

  • Munro/Fudge and Oshiro/Howells have played each other four times this year and the series is tied 2-2. Fudge/Munro have won the last two matchups, 11-9, and 11-8, in the third game. I am taking Howells and Oshiro to earn some revenge for the last two losses, and they win it in three.

Women’s Doubles

Top Seeds

  1. Megan Fudge/Jill Braverman
  2. Emily Cederquist/Yana Newell
  3. Shelby Bates/Sofia Sewing
  4. Amanda Hendry/Allison Harris

Top Storylines

  • The last time Megan Fudge and Jill Braverman lost was in the finals at the APP Chicago Open in August. They have since won the APP Women’s Open, APP Mesa Open, and won USA Pickleball Nationals two weeks ago.
  • (3) Sofia Sewing and Shelby Bates are the wons who toppled Braverman and Fudge in the APP Chicago Open - can they find the magic again?
  • Underdogs I like to make a good run in Fort Lauderdale: (17) Ava Cavataio and Regina Goldberg, and (21) Ella Boydston and Mary Monson (Utah Tech players).

Prediction

  • Fudge and Braverman beat Cederquist and Newell in the finals in three.

Men’s Doubles

Top Seeds

  1. Jack Munro/Will Howells
  2. Max “Purple Jesus” Manthou/Erik Lange
  3. Tanner Tomassi/Richard Livornese Jr.
  4. Clayton Powell/Aidan Schenk

Top Storylines

  • It will be over two months since the top seeded Munro and Howells won a tournament on the APP Tour. The last time they won was the AARP Open in October. They got knocked out early in Mesa, and Howells didn’t play Nationals. Can the duo win gold in their last tournament together on the APP Tour?
  • Speaking of Nationals, despite being the #2 seed, Purple Jesus and Lange won Nationals for the first win for the 2025 season for them. Can they keep the momentum going?
  • Underdogs I like to make a good run in Fort Lauderdale: (14) Callan Dawson & Drake Palm, and (28) Liam Duffin & Max Wild.

Prediction

  • Munro and Howells win gold in their last tournament together, beating Purple Jesus and Lange, in two.
