Today, I want to talk to you about the new ProXR Quiet Luxury paddle. It sure is quiet, but is it truly a luxury? Let's find out. This is my review, based on my four years of paddle reviews. I have played with over 300 paddles and reviewed more than 150. ProXR had no input on this review. I did not guarantee a review, and I am not receiving any money for this. They sent me this paddle for free to review, and I want to thank them for doing that. I also want to thank those of you using our discount code, which is in the description below. If you like this paddle, you can get a discount, and I appreciate your support. If you want us to review other paddles, please leave a comment below, and we’ll do our best to line it up for a review. ProXR paddles have been pretty popular, with Zane Navratil as their premier pro for a while. Now, with Riley Newman and Connor Garnett representing the brand, this paddle company has made huge strides. Their line has consistently delivered some of the highest spin among paddles tested. Combined with their body shape, ProXR paddles are extremely maneuverable at the net. The Quiet Luxury paddle offers sound-dampening technology that meets USAP Quiet standards in the ultra-popular Sweet Spot Max shape. This paddle is renowned for having one of the biggest sweet spots on the market. Additionally, it features ProXR’s pickleball debut of the Shock Foam Edge Guard. This innovation improves playability across the entire paddle face by dispersing vibrations, enhancing consistency even on mishits. I’ve played with the Diadem Hush paddle and Quiet Play paddles (stay tuned for my Quiet Play and Hush reviews). Playing with quiet paddles can be mind-bending because of the sound—or lack thereof. Among the three quiet paddles I’ve tested, this ProXR paddle sounds the most like hitting a tennis ball. It produces a satisfying, deep thump. Surprisingly, the Quiet Luxury paddle performs well across all shots. The Diadem Hush, in contrast, is incredibly powerful—almost like the Gearbox paddle—but harder to control at high speeds. The Quiet Play paddle feels more like a traditional paddle in both play and sound. However, ProXR’s Quiet Luxury stands out with its unique design. The paddle features actual fabric on the face, giving it a soft, plush texture similar to carpet. Is this a gimmick? Does it make the paddle feel like something other than a pickleball paddle? Let’s get into it. First, I love the Sweet Spot Max paddle. It has a polypropylene core, is 16 mm thick, 8 inches wide, and 16 inches long, with a 5.25-inch handle. True to its name, it boasts an exceptionally large sweet spot. ProXR has added their Shock Foam Edge Guard and a textured “carpet” face, which dampens vibrations and widens the sweet spot by adding perimeter weighting. This makes the paddle feel like one giant sweet spot. When hitting, the paddle was responsive and deceptive. Despite not being an extended-length paddle, it had surprising zip. Drives were powerful, and I was able to generate an impressive amount of spin. I expected struggles with drives, but this paddle exceeded my expectations. Serves and returns were consistently deep, and I quickly adjusted to the paddle. Its soft touch at the kitchen line was equally impressive. Because it’s so quiet, opponents couldn’t gauge the ball's distance from the sound. Additionally, the paddle had excellent put-away power at the kitchen, making it a fun choice for messing with friends. If these paddles were legal in regular tournaments, I would love to use them. The sound deception alone is a significant advantage. Many players don’t realize how much we subconsciously rely on the sound of a hit to estimate ball speed and trajectory. Overall, I enjoyed playing with this paddle. If you need a quiet option, this is a fantastic choice. The paddle is priced at $29, but with our discount code in the description, you can get it for less. Thank you to ProXR for sending us this paddle. And thank you for using our code—it helps us keep the lights on and continue bringing you honest reviews to make informed decisions about your paddle purchases.
