NPL™ is an Open Format League for ALL Pickleball players. Anyone can join. All ages. All skill levels. Play as many games as you want. We record your individual stats. 2 Divisions to join. Singles or Doubles (Or join both). Singles/Doubles Division: Play with as many partners (or opponents) as you wish. Play your own games at your own convenience. During the NPL™ Season, any rated NPL™ member can play with/against any other rated NPL™ member. The more games you play, the better your chances to qualify for State/Regional Finals and onto the National Pickleball League™ Championship. At the end of the season, the top-ranking players (divided by state, rating, gender, age) qualify for their State/Regional Tournament. Play Format NPL™ pickleball league rules Open Play Doubles: Play as many games as you want. With as many partners as you want. Open Play Singles: Play as many games as you want with as many opponents as you want. You may play more than one game with one opponent. During the season, teammates and opponents may play with any age, rating, gender player as long as they are NPL™ league members. The goal is to play as many games as you can to accumulate wins and points. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST, ENCOURAGE MEMBERS TO VIDEO GAMES TO ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM. Scoring Points to 11. Win by 2 points. Scores to be entered immediately on the NPL™ website by the winning player(s) upon conclusion of your game. If an NPL™ league pickleball score is not reported within 48 hours of the game, then it will be nullified. If an issue arises from reporting the score, contact your league ambassador or report it here. [email protected] Your local area Rec rules apply Any fair method can be used to determine which NPL™ league pickleball player or team has first choice of side, service, or receive. Some examples include coin toss or writing a 1 or 2 on the back of a score sheet or any piece of paper. Honor System Line calls must be made immediately by the side playing the ball. Otherwise, the pickleball ball will be considered in. If, during a doubles match, one partner calls the ball out and the other partner on the same team overrules the call, the ball will be considered in. Any questionable calls should be in favor of your opponent. If you request the opinion of your opponent, you should accept his/her opinion. Ultimately, any NPL™ league rule of play in question should reference the USPA rulebook found here. Choosing Courts Players choose any pickleball location to play that is convenient for all NPL league players. Qualifying for State and Regional Playoffs To qualify for the NPL league playoffs. Ambassadors qualify first. Paid NPL™ members then qualify in order of their points ranking. Remaining spots may be filled by FREE members but are not eligible for awards, prizes. The highest-ranking paid member will be awarded prizes. Ranking will be in the order of total points won minus total points lost. Remaining total points won will determine ranking. If there is a tie in total points won, the next determining rank will be total games won minus total games lost. Singles and Doubles Playoffs will be a Round Robin format where all of the players will play with a different partner in all rounds. Singles will play every combination of players. Then, the winning player is chosen based on points gained. If there is a tie, the tie is broken based on win-loss records. If there is still a tie, then the tie is broken based on win-loss head-to-head matches. The playoffs will occur directly after the season has ended. (FREE members converting to paid membership mid-season have to start from scratch/0 wiping out their WIN/LOSS record as a free member.) ALL RULES SUBJECT TO CHANGE at the discretion of the NPL™. Breaking League Rules Anyone caught submitting a false NPL league pickleball game score will receive a WARNING. Second infraction: All subsequent games MUST SUBMIT MANDATORY VIDEO with their score submission. Third infraction: League Suspension with NO REFUNDS. Any complaints of poor sportsmanship, abuse, cheating, etc... will be dealt with the NPL™ Commissioner, and all decisions will be FINAL. NO REFUNDS. Source: NPL National Pickleball League
