The National Pickleball League Kicks Off its 2024 Season With a Bang in Chicago

The National Pickleball League, comprised of some of the best 50-plus pickleballers the country has to offer, opened its 2024 season this past weekend at Pickle Haüs in Chicago.

The event featured 12 teams representing cities from across the country, each with a roster of 14 players, equally split between women and men.

With over 200 pickleball professionals competing in the NPL this season, it was an action-packed event filled with high-quality pickleball.

Across Saturday and Sunday, four sessions featured a series of TeamBattles with the best of 12 individual matches.

The Columbus Hotshots and the Houston Hammers (both new expansion teams) ended the weekend tied for first place. The $10,000 prize money was split equally between these top two performing teams.

Both Houston and Columbus had identical 4-0 TeamBattle records and 35-13 Match records (+24 differential).
