The main drawback for me is the balance. The KVL 004 feels slightly head-heavy, and adding lead or tungsten weight can make it noticeably slower during fast hand battles at the kitchen. Players who prioritize fast hands may prefer to keep the paddle in stock form or carefully limit added weight. For drivers, singles players, and aggressive all-court players, however, that extra mass can also improve stability and plow-through.
