My first match at APP Sacramento is officially in the books—and what a way it was to kick things off. I teamed up with Will Howells to take on a tough duo in Drake Palm and Ronan Cameron. Right out of the gate, I’ll be honest—I started off slow. You can definitely see it in the early points. But something shifted once we were down big. I started to find my rhythm, brought some energy, and locked into the intensity that made the match so fun to grind through. This was the first round of the tournament, and it was a great one to get under our belt. Early on, I struggled to find my tempo, which gave Drake and Ronan a big opening lead. But momentum in pickleball can flip fast—and once Will and I settled in, we began to dictate pace, work our patterns, and fight back point by point. The chemistry with Will really came through, especially in key transition zones and decision-making under pressure. We leaned into smart dinks, solid resets, and found our chances to finish at the net. It was a solid way to start the tournament and laid the foundation for what came next.
